4-Axis Performance for Fast and Precise Pick & Place Automation
The igus LCA-DR1000-04 delta robot offers four degrees of freedom for enhanced flexibility in pick & place tasks. With a working diameter of 1,000 mm, up to 96 picks per minute, and repeatability of approx. 0.3 mm, it’s ideal for dynamic end-of-line operations. The additional rotary axis enables not only gripping but also orienting components.
Control is provided via the free igus® Robot Control, available as cabinet version. The software supports intuitive programming and interfaces such as Modbus TCP/IT, ROS, Python and many more. Alternatively. – perfect for custom control architectures.
Typical applications include pick & place, sorting, and stacking on conveyor belts, with seamless integration into existing automation systems. Its modular design and open interfaces make it a cost-effective solution for modern production environments.
Highlights
More flexibility with additional axis
Integrating a fourth axis into a Delta robot offers numerous benefits that significantly enhance the robot's efficiency and flexibility:
Extended Mobility: With an additional rotational axis, the robot can perform more complex movements and precisely position objects at various angles.
Versatility: The additional axis allows the robot to undertake a wider range of tasks, from machining to inspection, making it applicable in various industries.
Optimized Cycle Times: The extended range of motion leads to faster and more efficient workflows, increasing productivity.
Improved Ergonomics: The fourth axis facilitates the handling of objects in hard-to-reach areas, improving the ergonomics of work processes.
These advantages make Delta robots with a fourth axis a valuable addition to modern production environments.

The Software enables simple and intuitive robot control and programming, making it easy to get started with automation. The modular design makes it possible to control different igus kinematics, for example Delta robots. The Delta robot can be controlled directly by our igus® Robot Control with all its advantages. The free and license-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus uses a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This means less project planning effort and faster commissioning.
